Como todos los años, la Academia Británica de Cine ha revelado a las participantes en los próximos BAFTA, una serie de reconocimientos que, junto a los Globos de Oro, van esclareciendo la posible lista de contendientes para los Premios de la Academia. Lo primero que llama la atención es la total dominación de Joker, pues tiene oportunidades de llevarse hasta 11 galardones, entre ellos cuatro tan importantes como Mejor Actor, Mejor Director, Mejor Guion Adaptado y Mejor Película. Sus dos contrincantes más potentes son The Irishman y Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, las cuales se llevaron 10 nominaciones cada una, mientras que 1917 -que ya dejó claro que planea llevarse todo- juntó 9.
