La Academia de Artes y Ciencias de la Televisión llevó adelante el anuncio de las nominaciones para la 69º edición de los Premios Emmy, en el Wolf Theatre, en North Hollywood. Anna Chlumsky (Veep, My Girl) y Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds) condujeron la ceremonia acompañados por Hayma Washington, el CEO de la Academia. Al igual que se había visto el año pasado, los votantes se han mostrado más abiertos y, dentro de las posibilidades que tiene una cantidad de nombres limitada, las categorías se presentan más en la línea de lo que uno espera como el reconocimiento a lo mejor de la pantalla chica. Gran ausente está Game of Thrones que, por su nueva fecha de lanzamiento en julio, no entró en el corte y por eso tiene 0 candidaturas en relación a las 23 del año pasado. Aún así, HBO pudo mantener la punta gracias al éxito de Westworld y Big Little Lies. Entre las curiosidades, hay que notar el cariño que se demostró a Saturday Night Live y un nombre en particular que no le hará mucha gracia al Presidente de Estados Unidos: Alec Baldwin.
Todos los galardones se entregarán el 17 de septiembre en el Microsoft Theater de Los Angeles, con la conducción de Stephen Colbert.
